How I Cut My Designer Spending in Half!

I Have a Slight Shopping Problem

Living in Seattle I've frequented second hand shops since middle school, I remember sneaking onto the metro after school with my allowance of $20, arriving at my favorite store in Capitol Hill called Atlas, they had the best selection of vintage sneakers, designer handbags and tons of great vintage finds. I bought my first Chanel bag at the age of 13 at this very store for $15.

I know what you are thinking... Chanel for $15? She's lying. Anyway Seattle shopping isn't what it used to be but I still need my designer fix weekly and I found the perfect website and app POSHMARK.COM! I am addicted, I check POSHMARK more than any social site. I have found chanel bags, shoes, clothes and so much more!

Now if I can just trick myself to not be such a sucker for every deal... baby steps I guess.

How the Tech Industry Is Changing How Seattle Is Dining

Cucina Americana | Maple Leaf

I've lived in Seattle all my life, moved away to California briefly and came back to gentrification. The cities growing rapidly and with it goes that small town big city feel Seattle natives grew to know and love so much.

The growing population of transplants and tech gurus has pushed Seattle young professionals to seek sub neighborhoods to dine and drink. Cucina Americana is a Rustic Italian concept in Maple Leaf catering to millennials who love to dine without breaking the bank.

Crosscut has covered this unusual shift beautifully read full article.

Sustainability, Economic Growth and Water Depletion

Our economy in it’s current state is unsustainable. Our beloved planet is subject to the great acceleration of impact brought on by humankind. Presenting immense risks of health to our biosphere and civilization. Our impact is linked directly to our fast global economic growth, which is depleting our water source as well.

Many are acknowledging this lack of sustainability and are making the necessary changes to be more mindful, but will this be enough to turn things around? The scale of sustainability stretches clear through our everyday routines and encounters.

Our water supply is depleting at an alarming rate, with states like California implementing water restrictions, as the drought continues, many lucrative crops are shriveling up and dying. There are many different innovative ways, to conserve water; while keeping your garden lush and green. Investing in a greenhouse will shield your garden from the blazing sun, along with recycling much needed moisture back into your crops.

Sustainability cannot gain any tread without us becoming more mindful and diligent with our efforts.

Cedars in Seattle

Have you had those moments in life where you think really hard about something you want, and miraculously you manifest your destiny? This moment happened to me the other day when I was starving at my work desk and closed my eyes and in my head, I was a glutenous pig over Indian food. Next thing you know this white knight carrying a platter of buttered chicken and basmati rice, waltzes through the door and I could've sworn there was a dramatic breeze as well. Anyway Moe, owner and operator of one of the best Indian/Mediterranean restaurants in Seattle you are a life saver! and I really haven't stopped thinking or talking about your food. The great thing is Cedars has multiple locations and they all deliver (I'm lazy). Stop into either of their locations and I promise you, you'll never be the same.

Fancy as Fuck

"Fancy as Fuck" is the great slogan for a hidden gem in Capitol Hill. I was wandering around one Sunday evening semi-drunk with my other half and stumbled upon a wonderful world of charcuterie and fresh baked baguettes. The world of "Cure." We perused the menu and after much debate we decided on "speck" and if you haven't had it, you are truly missing out on life.  We spoke to the owner who was our bartender as well Amy Haldane and she explained to us they do a communal dinner in the restaurant with a secret menu early every month. Amazing! I'll be back for that experience. Stop in if you want to detour off the beaten path of night clubs and Jaeger Bombs.
